39.2 degrees C were measured Sunday in Bulgarias hottest point, the town of Sandanski in the south-west. The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences forecasts that heat s are set to continue in the first half of next week, with temperatures above or even well above 30 C across the country.

Two earthquakes have been registered 240 km south from the Bulgaria n capital Sofia, the Bulgaria n National Radio has reported. According to the Seismological Center to the Geophysical Institute of the Bulgaria n Academy of Sciences, at 12 pm on Sunday was registered an earthquake with an epicenter of about 240 km south from Sofia, outside Bulgaria s territory.
